NYLAND Working as a fireman onboard Nyland from 9th April 1940 until signing off at Newcastle on 20th November 1940. Nyland was on convoy from Methil to British Guiana when bad weather struck. Four days out on the convoy on 6th December 1940 she sent an SOS stating she had run aground on West Rock, Isle of Iona (off Skerryvore, Orkney). The ship and its crew were never seen again.

RIMFAKSE Magne was onboard the Rimfakse as a cook from 13th January 1941 at Sunderland until 16th April 1941 at Blyth. On the 27th April 1941, after setting out from Lock Ewe in convoy for Iceland, she was sunk by U-147 off East Shetlands.

NORLOMMagne was onboard this ship from 5th January 1943 (Newcastle) until 25th January 1943. On 2nd December 1943 she was at harbour at Bari, Italy when enemy Ju-88’s attacked, bombing and sinking her.

SCEBELIBoarding this ship at the Tyne on 28th January 1943 until signing off on 8th March 1943. While travelling with convoy ON178 (UK – N.America) Scebeli was torpedoed and sank on 21nd April 1943 by U-415.

VIGSNESWorking as 3rd Engineer, signing on at Algiers on 27th June 1944 and disembarking at Ardrossan on 21st August 1944. Vigsnes was sunk by torpedo (U-1172) on 23rd January 1945 while travelling with convoy MH1.
